Course Selection

March 8, 2024

Dear Students and Families,

The process for talking about and selecting classes for next year has begun!  Counselors have been visiting classes and sharing information with students about the process. Individual scheduling appointments will start soon.

Check out the Dover Daily for short informational videos on our electives and programs for next year!  The Dover Daily staff are creating a playlist specific to the 2024-25 courses.  The playlist is a work in progress, but check it out over the next few weeks as more videos are added.

Here is an updated copy of our course selection guide for 2024-25.  Please use this latest version when exploring course options for next year.

Students - if you are interested in taking an AP class or enrolling in the independent study honors program, please complete one or both of the online applications below.  In order to be considered for either program, you must fill out and submit a complete application by the deadlines listed.

Advanced Placement (AP) course application  - Due by Sunday, April 7th (Fill out only the sections for the courses you are seeking)

Rhetoric and Argumentation Honors Program - Due by Sunday, May 19th

If you are applying to the Rhetoric & Argumentation Honors Program, please know that you need a recommendation from a teacher or counselor.  Make sure you ask the staff member for a recommendation.  The form has been shared with all staff via newsletter.  However, you can find the recommendation form here as well.

Over the past few years, the district has greatly expanded the number of course offerings available for students.  Next year, we are pleased to offer two new courses that comprise the Winners’ Circle project.  Given the limited number of spots, interested students are asked to complete this online application which is due by Sunday, April 7th.

Please reach out to your school counselor with any questions or if you need assistance with scheduling for next year.

Sincerely,

Matt Latvis, Principal
Monika Contreras, Assistant Principal
